Dean Henderson

I hope DDG stays, I know he’s having a tough time the past few weeks but I still would rather we tied him down and he remained number 1.

However if he won’t budge on his wage demands, I think we have a ready made replacement in dean Henderson.

Could work well if the blades go up. Let them keep deano for another year on loan, then if De Gea leaves for free next summer and Henderson continues to impress after a year in the premier league he can be our number 1.

Thoughts?

Romero is good and better than De Gea in a few things but, overall, he is no where near DDG level.

He's a calamity in waiting keeper. Good keeper overall but he's had some horror moments and some lucky escapes.

All young keepers do.

Love it when people say they don’t rate McTominay.

When he first broke through I couldn’t see it either, but you can visibly see his progression game by game. I think at a minimum he will be a useful squad player. The past few games he’s started, he’s been our best CM by a distance.

As it stands currently, I’d have him starting in our cumbucket of a central midfield tbh.

Exactly it’s only mental cases like math that can see that McT has been decent this last little while.

McT is a classic case of boring name, boring backstory playing in a position that can be seen as a bit boring, quietly going about his business as he improves game after game.

He's now clocked good/very good games against Liverpool, City (last season) Spurs, Chelsea, Arsenal, PSG and Barca.

Agreed, I have little qualms about him starting next season as 1st choice defensive midfield. I think he will continue to improve.

Oh for the record I don’t rate McTominay personally. Hope I’m proved wrong

................

I rate him far higher than I rate Matic. There is no way Matic should ever start for us unless everyone else is on crutches.
