Don't you just love the perverse logic...

....of Emery's ways. Plays 3 CB's against Palace at home for some effed up reason no one can grasp. Yet, plays 2 away to Wolves where we were pretty much underdogs guaranteed to come under pressure. Tinkering for the sake of it.

I can't fault anything in his selection today which to me was the best possible team we could field from what we had available (maybe Kolasinac to form a back 5 while taking off any of the most useless out of Mkhi, Iwobi and Ozil might have kept us more solid). What is unforgivable is that self-sabotage on Sunday. Seriously, eat sheite Emery. Another season of 'Ropey league footy and another miserable transfer window awaits.

Fack Emery.
Fack Kroenke.
Fack Gazidis and Wenger most of all for destroying this team.

Haven’t logged in, posted or even lurked for months but tonight was too good an opportunity to miss. Fack me, this team, this club, this manager are all utterly rotten. A manager who couldn’t even win ligue 1 with PSG should not be the answer to a faltering club’s problems. Arsenal reaping very much what they’ve sewn with a hideous appointment in Emery.

Ridiculous being close and might yet finish top 4 in his first season. Still could win the Europa league. His first season. Won cups with Sevilla.

Wolves are a very good team and always a difficult game, they've been ruthless this game.

There's little doubt Emery tinkers too much, and I too wonder if he tinkers just for the sake of it sometimes.

But in fairness to him, I think we as a club need a few years to have the poor defending and mental fragility left over from the previous era coached out of us.

How do you become so bad at handling away matches compared to home matches?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

At home, we play a lot more on the front foot and can impose ourselves on teams. Away, every team has to be a little more street-wise, and resolute, and tactically aware. And this lack of defensive nous is always exposed. Always crack at the first sign of pressure away from home. I'd love to see statistics cos I can bet we are at best in the bottom 5 of the league for defensive errors leading to conceding. Probably only a team like Fulham have been more rotten in defense. Shambles.

I haven't compared stats, but from my anecdotal observations, we're every bit as rotten in defense this season as we were last season which was our worst ever season in over 2 decades. I can't see a shred of improvement in our defending. Our position this season is better than last because we've been a little more efficient in attack (even though Aubameyang and Lacazette have been 2 of the most wasteful strikers in the league this season - with Auba officially leading the stats for missed chances in the division)

In a league season where spurs have lost 11 games, Utd and Chelsea have been completely shambles, any half competent manager could achieve what Emery so far has (which is absolutely fack all at the point of typing).

Yep, hence my comment that he needs a couple a couple of years to coach this out of them.

We could yet get top 4 and win the Europa League. The reactionary, sensationalist rhetoric from some of our fans is embarrassing. The time to properly sit down and assess Emery is at the end of next season in my opinion.

We lost today because our general play was so shambolic. In fact, even the commentators were not happy with the way we played like we don't need the 3 point.

The damage caused this club by Wenger in his last 5-7 years cannot be quantified.
What a selfish man; put himself over the club until he was pushed.

I'd say there must be a strong mental issue going on between the two (home and away). The players must have it in their heads now how bad they are away and it's seeped into their performances.
