People say give emery time! Well give it then
I say 3 years. 2 years remaining

No one more year and then we have an option for a third. He has to get us to the CL before his option year. We still have the Europa so a fighting change this season.

Bottomline is we need a lot of money to transform this team. Money that we won't have without CL football. Gazidis and Wenger left us with a squad of dross that somehow still had a wage bill over £200m (any remaining supporters of those 2 clowns should be in an asylum). Can't believe a team like Leicester could bring in players like Tielemanns and Madison while we're still stuck with dross like Iwobi.
What is really scary is just how much money we would need to turn this around. Where would it come from. Our recent accounts were in the red. Our wage bill is an abomination. Players that are bound to leave have next to no sell-on value. We're unlikely to get CL footy. Our owner doesn't put his money into the club.
Where would the money come from?

Thats why the CL is so important.

Emery's meaningful signings have been hits so far (or whoever's signings they were).
Torreira - Decent (was great)
Leno - Excellent (slow start)
Sokratis - Good
Guendouzi - Solid/promising
Suarez - fack off?
Lichtsteiner - dross but free
That's 3 decent players from the 3 "big" money signings. Need to continue plus extra in summer
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Good point. It's really the squad left over from the Wenger era that's holding us back. Under-performing players on big wages (Mkhi, Ozil), unreliable defenders, and a total lack of wingers. Emery at the very least deserves a run with his own players.

Only option right now we have to win Europa.

We've lost 4 out of 5 premier league games. The last we won was against a team that played one man less for 3/4 of the game, and even that we were overplayed.
Anyone who thinks this capitulation is only the players fault should be ready to wallow in mediocrity for a long time. Get in a manager who understands the club, who understands the league, who was captain of the club, who is part of something great happening elsewhere right under our noses and who not only has a winning mentality but understands what it means to win. And that manager is Arteta.

Dont get back in that argument all Wenger's players. Its ridiculous.
The question is have we improved with the players we added? Have we improved our defense with the players we added? Have we progressed at all?
My answer to it is simply no.

I can't agree more. It's silly the generality of consensus here all of a sudden, it's Wenger's fault.
Wenger's been gone a year. Leave him be. Emery has made some scary selection this season alone. Leaves room to question his abilities

The board and the owner are unwilling to put in the investment the club needs. Everyone knows we need 200m this summer. Everyone knows we probably could afford to spend that one time.
No they give 50m with player sales profit going to the owner not the transfer budget

I think we are the only team out of the 92 without a clean sheet away from home in the league all season.
