Unlucky Morelos

You're gonna be an ugly kant for life.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-48103482

Jokes aside, I think this new policy is fantastic and long, long overdue. I worked with a guy who had to watch his 7 year old son slowly die as he couldn't get a donor for a lung transplant. Tragic.

I'm on the list and donate blood as I've got one of the rarer types so wouldn't want to be relying on a transfusion but there to be fvck all blood to save me. And what the fvck am I gonna do with my organs when I bite the dust? If there are any healthy bits of me left, I'd much rather they give someone else a shot at life.

What's everyone's views on this?.. seeing as it's a bit slow on here today

I was going to make a really bad jestful comment about donating deceased children's bodies to paedophiles but I will not go ahead with the comment.

I don't trust hospitals making decisions for organ donations. Carrying a donor card is like giving doctors permission to not care and opens up the chance of organs becoming available to treat the sick and dying.

As it happens, I had a serious condition and was critical when I was 13 and spent a few weeks in the ICU. My Dad said doctors ran lots of tests to identify matches for all my organs at the time. Happy to report I made it through with all my critical bits are still attached.

While I agree organ donation is a terrific thing in theory, I don't like the idea that a hospital can take the decision to call time given organs could be used elsewhere.

Every patient deserves the right to recover and should be given ample time to achieve this without interference.

Aye, doctors are gonna let people die on purpose to save other people

Ffs you need to lay off the weed with nonsense like that. And they call Celtic fans paranoid

You've obviously never worked in the medical profession or a hospital with absolute horse sh¡te like that

They don't take organs from living people ffs

Nobody has the right to switch off life support machines other than family members, unless it goes to court like it did with that wee brain dead bairn last year.
