Still In It

Ajax deserved the victory today - a very impressive side. There’s no doubt in mind that if it wasn’t for our injuries and lack of rest the score would’ve been different, but these are things that the top sides have to deal with in Football.

I’m quietly confident of nicking a 2-1 win in Amsterdam although I wouldn’t be surprised if they turned us over again. If we can go in at half-time at their place level, I fancy us to go through.

Trippier, Sanchez, Llorente & Dele all very poor today. Sissoko when he came on, how good was he?

Praying for three points against Bournemouth now otherwise it’s gonna be an extremely nervy end to the season. Finishing outside of the top four and not winning the CL would be a disaster.

P.S - The behaviour from some of the Ajax fans before the game was disgusting, just attacking normal fans trying to make their way to the game peacefully. It was my younger brothers fifth or sixth game and he was very shaken by it.

If we beat Bournemouth, we'll beat Ajax, I reckon.

We'll go into the game with a lot less pressure on us as top four will be secure and the Everton game won't even be in our minds.

We don't beat Bournemouth however, and we're still juggling two priorities, which will be our downfall. Possibly in both, which would be unthinkable.

I think we have a great chance. I really don’t get the hype about this Ajax side. Thought they were alright last night but they had a huge opportunity with all our injuries to put the tie beyond us. They didn’t. We have some very good players and with Son coming back I am strangely optimistic. After ten minutes last night I thought we were gonna get a pasting. We didn’t. Score first up there and it all changes. Let’s try and stay positive, they have a big cup final before the next leg too
----------------------------------------------------------------------

We also have a big cup final as well. Remember Bournemouth, where we absolutely need three points, all the other teams around us have pretty well gimmees at the weekend. So as it stands the Bournemouth game is bigger than Ajax next week.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ajax actually have a cup final on Sunday so they won’t be coming into this with a 10 day break this time either
----------------------------------------------------------------------

They will probably be able to rotate, even for the cup final, they are pretty well dominant in the Dutch League, PSV apart, and I don`t think they are playing them in the final. They will see next week`s game as the bigger prize.

Well yes it is, lose to Bournemouth and Top Four and CL for next season will be in seriously jeopardy. The semi-final Spurs have about a 10 per cent chance of progressing. I know which game I would be prioritising.
