I was wondering if anyone could explain to me the situation regarding English teams in The Europa League and qualification for next year’s Champions League.
Am I right in thinking that if Chelsea or Arsenal win the Europa, it is only Top 3 who get CL next season?
If so, the situation is rather pressing. I also think we need 3rd to avoid a qualifying round that I wouldn’t put any money on us currently progressing through (Young Boys).
We should be treating tomorrow and Everton at home as a two legged qualifying tie for the CL (which they technically are). If they can’t get up for these two games, then we have huuuuuge problems.
I will be really angry to see Eriksen and others walking away to ‘play CL football’ next season if they can’t secure it for themselves.

3 is a better number. Too many teams from big leagues in the CL.

4th only misses out if 5th and 6th win Champions league and Europa. 4th also no longer has to play qualifyers and will do staight into the group stage so there is no difference between 3rd and 4th.

Bit harsh. This is a football forum and some people may not have enough time to do the research or it maybe they have more important things to do in life than just reading endless footballing articles, yes some people do have a life outside of football, and it is fine to come here and ask a question as people here are football interested and some are savvy?
Spurs have in the last couple of years never had to worry about CL qualiifcations, and it's fair to assume some people don't recall the computations the Ifs and buts of it all.
