Happy Saturday.
If you’re under 30 then you may not remember these. If you are however, see if these bring back some memories of Sky Sports back in the day...

Back in the days when people gave a crap what Richard Keys had to say, and Norwich v Blackburn and Swindon v Aston Villa would have been seen as top quality weekend viewing.

But if you listen to some people the league was of a better quality.

For me, I think it was better quality in terms of competitiveness. The fact clubs like Norwich were able to qualify for Europe via league placing, and before the new CL format as well, justifies this. The TV and prize money has killed the Premier League off in terms of competition, certainly outside of the top 6. It's never been harder for teams promoted from the Championship to gain a foothold in the league without significant investment a la Wolves, Bournemouth, etc.
In terms of quality of player though, not a chance in hell. The Premier League may have sold it's soul, but it got some unbelievable footballers in return.
