Jorginho dude appreciation thread

Hes been in great form recently and proving those haters wrong!

Hes literally got everything to his game:

- Speed:

- Strength:

- Passing:

- Tackle:

A team of 11 Jorginhos would literally be Barcelona 2010/11 season

So my comments about comparing the standard of players to the best there is in the league at the moment are silly, but just saying that 11 Jorginhos would be as good as Barcelona of 2010/11 are not silly?

Declan Rice is one player who has been talked about as a long term replacement for Fernandinho, just to name one.

Oh my...

I wasn't expecting anyone to take those comments seriously. I was being hyperbolic for a joke, and a reference to Jose's comment about "11 Azpi would win the league".

The point of the article was not to say Jorginho is the best midfielder is the world or whatever.

It is just to give appreciation to a decent midfielder, who imo gets way too much hate!

Mourinho said this week that Jorginho is the most complete midfield player in Europe and Pep wanted him at City.

Now they both could be wrong, but it should at least give those people who think that he I no good some food for thought as to why two of the most successful manager in the last 15 years both rate him highly.

Would he get into Liverpool or Man City's midfield? No.

Well considering Man City were trying to buy him... Possibly??

And as for Liverpool, you could have chosen a better team tbh - they are a great team, but not that blessed with central midfielders.

But overall the point is irrelevant, there are number of excellent players who could not get into those teams. How many Chelsea players in general would get into those teams?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If Man City really wanted him, they would have got him. Yes, they were interested but they'd have bought him if they really felt like he was a necessary addition to the midfield.

Liverpool are not blessed with central midfielders? If you are looking for control of the game in midfield, you do well to find anybody that does it better than Liverpool. Fabinho is very good at both winning and keeping hold of the ball, Keita is good with the ball at his feet and Henderson and Milner can dictate a game from midfield, probably best evidenced by the Southampton game where there introduction allowed Liverpool to gain control of the midfield and subsequently win the game.

Regarding the man markers, which players do opposition managers put on Jorginho exactly?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Rubbish...Pep admitted he wanted him, the deal was going to happen and that the only reason they did not get him was because of the player's relationship with Sarri and Sarri's appointment at Chelsea.

Guardiola too was impressed with Chelsea’s turnaround, and singled out two Chelsea stars in particular who caught his eye.

‘It was a tight game, we knew it would be as a final. One of the toughest teams I have ever faced in my time. How Jorginho and Kante pressed was incredible. It is not easy to fight them,’ Guardiola said. ‘I was impressed with the way Chelsea defended, they were well organised and one of the toughest teams I’ve faced in my career.

When asked how close City had come to signing the 26-year-old, Guardiola said: "We were close but in the end Jorginho decided to stay with Sarri.

"I've said before that I want players who want to come here. He didn't want that. We tried, we believed it was done but at the last turn he decided on Chelsea.

Its also really interesting that Pep and Mourinho, managers with opposing footballing philosophies both rate the same player highly.
