Zouma

Alot of talk about Kurt returning next season. With the uncertainty around David luizs contracts our transfer status and rudiger injured I think it makes sense bringing him back for Sarri to take a look at. I was a big fan before his injury and from what iv read he's had a good season at Everton, I'm sure their fans can tell us more. My biggest concern is a back two of rudiger and zouma are both great athletes but we lose the ball playing ability Sarri likes. Meaning jorginho will have to come even deeper for the ball and increase the risk of him being caught out.

If he did come back it would probably be to compete with Rudiger for a spot in the team, as they’re similar kinds of defender. Luiz and Christensen to compete for the other.

Guys not as good as cheistensen, or hell, even Cahill imo.
Clumsy.

Is he technical enough for Sarri who we know insists on playing out from the back?

Personally I think we need a physical CB in our squad to deal with the Burnley's of the world,so yes I would like him back.

But I think he would play only a few games

Although he looks clumsy on ball and still has a propensity to blast it into row Z when under pressure with when facing his goal/or the touchline, he has received praise for his playing of the ball, as well as just being good at defending. He’d be ideal to bring back into the squad, although he could potential he 3rd/4th choice CB with AC. It’s ideal for us to have two good young CBs as back up but I don’t think Zouma accepts that..plus Everton could well offer the club, what, 40m+ for Zouma this summer? Club will like that. I reckon he goes.

We should cash in on him and get a top centre back - we are desperate for a top defender to play next to Rudiger.

Agree with everything you said Kunta. He has an amazing leap on him too - so he is always a goal threat at set pieces. But I can't imagine he'd be Sarri's first choice as he is not famous for his technical skills. Turning into a solid defender, and I think he'd be a decent replacement for Rudiger. But I'm not sure he'd be happy with that after cementing a first team place at Everton. Plus, as you say - if we are offered £40M I think we'd cash in. Even if we have a transfer ban for a season, I think we'll sign Luiz to one more year - plus we can bring Tomori back as backup.

p.s. Sorry Nick, you're wrong again. Everyone is better than Cahill.

Nah, not for me sorry.

I would be more than happy for Zouma sign permanently, he is young has plenty of potential. In saying that, I don't think we should really be offering much more than £30 million.
