Next Season Predictions

Hi All,

I like to do this every year and now are season is nearly over and top4 is confirmed i can relax and enjoy a little more admin Please Multiboard.,

So here are my predictions for next season in terms of the Top 6

starting at the top

Man City - they already look like strengthening and getting business done early, they have been fantastic this year and will kick on under pep i think, will remain the ones to beat for me. a good performance in the Champions League however is needed. I also think it will be Peps last season as Italy awaits. - Prediction 1st

Liverpool - likely will miss out on winning the premier league title and a stunning season for them. I do however think that next season will be tougher for them and in particular Klopp, I am not sure where he can take them after this season, pressure will mount and anything less than a full on title challenge and trophies will put more pressure on liverpool and Klopp, Klopp relies on unity and togetherness to win games and i worry that the added pressure on him will show some cracks and utlimatley people start questioning his suitability to take liverpool on the next level, i predict a different season for them 4th.

Chelsea - Where do I start, will he go, wont he go, i am talking about Sarri not hazard as the latter is out the door, Transfer ban looming, ageing unsuitable squad of players poor attitudes in the squad, it needs a shake up. however, a Fully fit RLC and CHO along with Reece james coming back to stake a claim and the possibility of others such as mount and Tammy and it could be an exciting season. if the ban is deferred, then we are going to have a big summer and a team could be created in sarris true image, i am pretty optimistic that we can finish 2nd but a bit behind city.

Spurs - this time i predict will be the year that Spurs fall out of the running and depart with Poch, i think spurs are not in a position to heavily strengthen and although among the strongest sides in Europe with their first 11 they have zero depth. Levy will be levy and one more season of no money i think will cause a rift with poch and the squad, ultimately resulting in an inconsistent season. unlike the others in the top 6 they are probably the smallest club. Prediction 5th - side note Poch to United by Jan

Arsenal - will drop further down the list, poor squad, poor manager wont strengthen adequately, lets face it, when have they ever
Prediction 7th replaced by Wolves in the top 6

United - Ole will take united on a horrific start to the season which will result in him losing his job by the turn of the year, poch will come in to replace as they finally make the right managerial call, they will take advantage of Poch's frustration with Levy and the Argentine will steady the ship and consolidate 6th place.

Table

City
Chelsea
Wolves
Liverpool
Spurs
United

No they won't, the owners are seriously rich and have a long term plan. They will spend this summer with every intention on breaking into the top six.

I actually think if we get the ban suspended and have a solid summer window we could solidify ourselves at third (will probably take an extra year to have an assault on City though).

The one advantage we have on Arsenal, Spurs and United is for all Sarri's faults he has a clear direction on where he wants to take us, Emery and OGS look like they're improvising as they go along and Spurs have stagnated big time.

If we can somehow convince Pepe to replace Hazard, get suitable LB and ST's in and get James and Mount into the squad I think we will have a seriously strong campaign next season, maybe similar to a Liverpool 17/18, ala not quite consistent enough to fight City but enough quality to have a good CL run.

Liverpool have been punching above their weight this season theyll drop back next season they wont get as many breaks, will be interesting and annoying to see how VAR affects the table, but divers beware there will be an increase in red cards next season

I actually think Liverpool could push on and City are the ones who need to watch themselves. Liverpool’s whole XI is young, now more experienced, room to improve and their new signings Keita and Fabinho now fully bedded in to improve what is the weakest area of their team.

City have a few aging players such as Aguero, Silva, Fernandinho and Kompany. Kompany less so as he’s maybe not a key starter but the other thres are. Aguero and Fernandinho have been great as usual this season but how much longer can they continue at a world class level ? Silva already slowing down.

Full back is still a limiting factor for them too, Walker is just beginning to get into wrong age for a player who has played extraordinary amount of football over last, what, 5 seasons and relies on physical ability. Tbh he has always looked a bit of a square peg in this City side. Good full back and at the time the only option for them but they could do better for what they need from full back. Mendy fully fit is great imo but looks like fans and manager starting to get fed up of him. Zinchenko has done alright but, not nothing special imo.

Very good post imo.

I'm interested to see who Liverpool buy. I think we'll go more for slightly younger players as the first 11 are all pretty much approaching what should be their prime. We also have a number of players leaving or likely to leave.

Moreno, Origi, Milner (I think he'd have got a new contract by now but may get a year), Sturridge plus possibly Lallana and Lovren.

We've a bit of an issue with the amount if foriegners on the books too so signing U21 players who also have the quality to get minutes may be on the cards.

I can see Wolves replacing United in the top 6.

Chelsea will drop out of the top four next season. Spurs have been awful, but will still probably finish above them. Spurs will strengthen, Chelsea cannot. Also Spurs will have their best player back, Chelsea will lose their best player. Spurs are not going anywhere just yet.
