Looks like Madrid were keen and so was he but Levy refused and Pochettino isn't the personality to cause trouble and dishonour an agreement.

Some damning quotes there and doesn't look great for the club's future. He's obviously backing players who want to leave because like them he doesn't want to linger for years viewing top four as a successful season and watching other teams win.

Sadly, I have zero confidence in Levy spending vast amounts of money.

I know people moan about City and their spend etc. but I would love for Spurs to get that lucky.

Certainly seems this summer is a either back me or lose me situation for poch.

Yep. I guess Levy called his bluff successfully last year, and the new stadium and facilities will no doubt have smoothed things over, but it feels like Levy would be taking a huge risk trying to do the same again this year.

Levy got away with it last summer, but he won’t get away with it again. No state of the art stadium is going to keep the fans on his side if he doesn’t start injecting money into the playing squad. Another summer of no activity and Levy is done for me.

No activity would be suicidal and the breaking point would come way before that.

If we are looking to sell players like Eriksen and Alderweireld and then telling Pochettino "here take this money and an extra £20-30m" that will have similar outcomes.

We could spend £300m this summer but if it's going to replacing outgoing players then you might as well has spent nothing again.

Poch always talks a load of bollix most pre match interviews , he loves it at Spurs.

I've just seen the video.

It basically comes across as if we win the CL and we continue operating the way we are - he's out. But if he sits down with Levy and has a chat about the future and how they continue going forward then he would stay.

Makes sense to be honest. Why would he achieve such a massive feat and then continue at Spurs pretty much knowing he won't get the backing and a miracle won't repeat itself. Waste of time in his eyes continuing like that.

BUUUUTTTTT, as people have said. Terrible timing.
