WTF was that!!!! I really want to blame the manager who is not exceptional.Decent I guess as he will walk away from the Barca job with quite a few trophies but why persist with a player who is struggling and is booed by his own fans?
To think United were considering buying him . I mean 105 million, okay it is supposed to rise to 145 million if a few clauses are met but that will almost certainly not happen as he will be sold if barca can even get a buyer. That fee makes Pogba at 90 million look like a steal.
At the age of 26, the least you ask of a player is run, thats all. Where is the personal pride? Its like the manager was hoping that huge price tag will eventually amount to something. I always argued with my young brother that Coutinho was a luxury player, applies the gloss and does little else.Okay under Brendan he ran a bit but like Nasri with us he just never convinced me he had substance.
If Barca had won the treble it would have been an insult to much better teams that have come before them. The team is being held by Messi and to an extent Suarez but they are a rabble and Messi's legs are gone in my opinion. Just like the world cup, you can see he is trying but he simply cant run anymore.
But they have such good players and consistently get to sign very good players for next to nothing. Frenkie de Jong will join them in the summer for 65 million Okay Liverpool pulled their pants down on Coutinho but they have Arthur, Malcom and Busquets is still decent.
I think liverpool did them a favour. Lets hope they sack Valverde and they nick Poch from round the corner
P.S without taking any credit away from Liverpool I think Klopp got his tactics right by crowding the midfield and suffocating Messi.There was a 10 minutes that they almost lost their heads (Fabinho) but overall they are the reason why Barca froze and the substitution of Gigi changed the game.I am not convinced any other player would have got those 2 goals.
They will start next season as possibly joint favourites with City which brings its own kind of pressure but they are rightly the second best team in europe, with or without the trophies.

Exactly, I'll go mainly on his time at Liverpool, not a season in a Barca team built very much around one player.

His Liverpool form was often hit and miss. He was never consistent there.
Some Liverpool fans will talk bollox and say differently but they are a far better team without him.
