New Technical Director

Hi Folks,

Any (serious) thoughts on new technical director - Edu?

Some advantages I see,

1. Knows Arsenal well and have played for us

2. Hails from Latin America, might help to discover some hidden gems at early age before other big clubs come and grab them or the asset gets pricey.

I still believe, one of the main things holding us back is club owner who has no ambition what so ever.

Never understood why Krankie got the nod from the board (presumably to enrich them too), he really doesn't appear to give two sh-ts about the club's success or otherwise, as long as it keeps turning over a few quid.

Oh, and Edu, yeah cool - always liked him. If he can do the job. Great.

No idea what he’ll be like. But I hope we can get this back room crap sorted out quick. The club has been run Atrociously since wenger left. At the time we needed stability, Gazidis fecks off at the first chance, we appoint a well regarded head of recruitment then manage to pïsล› off minslintat so much he leaves. And now are left with backroom squabbles, no leadership, absent owners and like Wenger they leave Emery out to dry to face it all when things go wrong. At a time where we needed strong leadership and vision from the club, they somehow manage to make an arล›e of it all.

This is a vital summer for us. Should really have all this sorted soon as possible after the last game

Very much an unknown. He's done well in his roles at Corinthians and the Brazil national team but how that extrapolates to here, no one knows.

Still we need to appoint someone sharpish. Clubs have already begun transfer dealings for next season. We're lagging behind, again.

Agree with all comments here...

Yes This is what pi me off, Lpool, City even Utd are linked with players and looking at potential targets but we won't wake up until sun rises in Aug...

Lpool and City both have showed, investing in right players is so key...but our owner doesn't know anything about player investment...he may be billionaire but like someone said above he absolutely gives no shhhyyt about our club.

One think which worries me is that his network is obviously in south america. To get players Arsenal can realistically afford, they will have to be almost unkwown to the general public, which means potentially issues with work permit.

If you find a few good technical directors send one our way.

What does a "technical director" actually do?

I’m not leaping to Kroenke’s defence here, would much rather prefer fans owned clubs and that there were no billionaires in the world ... but saying the man lacks ambition is a bit of a stretch, he is a billionaire businessman.

I mean I wake up and the only pressing issue is should call a sickie or get my ass up and go to work, not should I uproot my club and move it to a different state.

The guy sanctioned 100,000,000 on two strikers only a year ago... I think we just bought crap players.
