Just a thought

If William Webb-Ellis picked up the ball and ran with it all those years ago surely it was the birth of Rugby League.

Big Fella .... you forgot to add ..... if he'd have kicked it then all the lads fell on top of each other, pushing and shoving ... then it'd have been union .... (or a new George Michael video) .....

They say it was for the money that players back then changed codes....I beg to differ, I'd suggest it was the ability to run more with the ball that encouraged a lot of them to come across along with the money as well of course......back to the origonal question re; Webb-Ellis picking up the ball......I've always been led to believe it was in fact the beginning of rugby league....cheers.
