Champions League Spots

Simple question.

If Arsenal win the Europa and finish 5th should United, finishing 6th, get the last PL CL spot?

I think they should as UEFA really can't afford the big clubs to not be in the CL.

Woodward should forget about player negotiations over summer and get cracking with UEFA.

This is true OP. I'm more concerned about the away goals rule. They were saying last night Spurs needed the third goal but the already had two away goals which means four goals. They had the tie won already.

I really hope they sort the away goals rule out for the final as the officials don't seem to understand it.

C'mon TOOR.

When it was 2-2 (2-4) last night in Amsterdam the score was actually 4-4 on agg because of Ajax's 1-0 (2-0) win at Spurs. That final goal was vital in their 6-4 agg win.

Away goals only count double in the 2nd leg.

Why would us (6th) get a CL place?

If Arsenal won the EL then it’d be the top 4 alongside Arsenal in the CL.

A maximum of 5 clubs from one country can make it into the CL currently.

Not awarding United a CL spot despite the value of our brand proposition is akin to slavery.

We've got a CHAMPIONS League final between Liverpool who havent been champions in 29 years and Spurs who haven't been champions for over 60.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Quite correct SE85. Nothing against them though. They deserve to be in there even if they have lost four games each in this year's competition.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Behave losing a couple of those group games meant PSG finished top of the group allowing you guys to have a platform on which to install Ole at the wheel!!

Be thankful, we are!
