Ok anyone who has grown up with Playstation will know about Everybody's Golf. It's a cutsie golf game that has all the basic elements of a golf game, but doesn't take itself too seriously, and adds over the top reactions with a uniquely polite Japanese style. It has proved a very popular series, and is just a simple fun golf game,
Now Sony have taken it to another level with Everybody's Golf VR, Now I haven't played the full game, just a demo that dropped today, and I have to say, it is a pretty fun if limited experience.
You get to choose to play standing up or sitting down, gender, which I'm not sure actually changes anything, you are after all only a floating pair of hands and a golf club, but maybe changes how far you can hit the ball? you can set your height, which is probably useful, because I presume a taller person would need a longer club?
You can also choose to use either a game controller, or the more obvious choice, a Move controller, which works pretty well.
After your initial setup and a short tutorial, you get to choose to practice, driving on a driving range, approach to a green, or putting. All three offer unique challenges.
I won't bore you with how I got on, suffice to say, you hit a ball with a swing of your arms, how hard you hit it, depends on how far you hit it. but as I found out, the harder you try and hit the ball the harder it is to control. so you tend to settle into a nice steady swing.
I'm not sure what people serious about golf would make of it, but if you want a golf game at home as close to the real thing, this would be it, I have actually pre ordered it based off the demo. I may not have much time to game, but I should be able to fit in a few holes.

Haha I think it looks fantastic. Haven't got VR (yet) but my kids love the most recent version on PS4 even if it does cause tempers to occasionally flare.
The downside would be that how (if at all) does it work as a local multiplayer game?

Ok anyone trying this out I would recommend going through all PSVR setup features to make sure your move controllers are as accurate as possible.
Earlier I noticed I was struggling to hit the centre of the club, hence the horrible slice. Since recalibrating everything I am hitting the centre of the club much more often, and my slice is very very much reduced,
I am now hitting the fairway pretty much at will, although doing it at max power is still a challenge. I'm definitely getting the hang of this, and I don't have to chase after the ball

Been playing around at pitching onto the green. I'm not a golfer, but it is surprising how accurate it seems to be.
Spent half an hour hitting the same shot onto the green, I learnt it's important to try and illiminate shoulder rotation, hit through the ball, and the opening and closing of the club face and what it does makes a lot more sense to me.
It shows you after the shot where exactly you hit the ball, which allows you to make correction to your swing, You do need a deft touch, and you do get a feel for how hard you should hit the ball, I actually think a golfer might find this useful.
Oh well back to pitching, I'm trying to get it straight in the hole, best I have managed is 5 feet
