Yeah that’s probably right, 1982. I do think the Sanchez situation has had an impact on things, however. And likely will on all contract negotiations for as long as he’s still at the club. At least with him out of the club we can take a different stance on things without having Sanchez’s position being used as a bargaining chip for agents.

Yeah the Sanchez transfer has f-cked things massively.

And the fact it, the vast majority of fans here were screaming for us to sign him (including me) which just goes to show we as fans don’t know sh-t but are happy to moan when things go wrong, even if we were wrong ourselves.

The funny thing is that we were linked with Lucas Moura at the time and almost to a man on here we wanted Sanchez. At the time it was a no brainer. Now Moura has probably trebled his value whereas Sanchez’ value is half of nothing

I actually wanted Moura over Sanchez.

He has come on leaps and bounds over the guy who should be managing United 😂

Joking aside, I think we’ll give Sanchez a golden handshake and send him on his way to Serie A or something

And I didn't want Sanchez at all.

On a funny side note, went to the Arsenal game with some London mates who had flown over for the week and we went to this swanky beach club after for an after party with some of the Valencia players (the ones with any front to show) and of all people Buffon was there. Got some pics with him and he’s an absolute legend who was singing Arsenal songs (he probably knew about 3 of the words)

He’s not actually been that good for Spurs, to be fair. But has come up with some big moments for them. And it’s more about what we’ve been lacking on the right than anything.
