Apparently this has been in the pipe line for a while, but various news agencies are reporting Arsenal have made their first summer signing in 17 year old Brazilian winger/forward Gabriel Martinelli.
Emery is supposedly so confident in the young man that he is setting aside a first team place for him next season. Seems fast, good finishing and lots of tricks in his bag. Spent time at Barca’s la Masia, not sure if that means they did not put an offer in or we just offered a better opportunity.
For £5/6,000,000 I’m pretty happy. We needed a winger, especially someone who could cover the vacant Welbeck position. Might not be ideal but we need as much money as possible for defence and midfield.
What do gooners think about this? First teamer next season or one for the future - might end up loaned?

Talking of Brazilian Gabriels, it seems as if Jesus is one of a few players wanting to leave City. Wonder if there is any interest from us. Depends on how much he would cost, of course. I wonder if we could arrange a loan with a fee to buy next summer? Would keep funds free for this summer.
Leroy Sane is another who allegedly wants out but I think we have zero chance of getting him (probably the same for Jesus in all honesty).
Wonder how much influence Edu already has on our plans, and how much of a relationship he has with the likes of G.Jesus.
