No Herrera, Matic, Shaw or Lindelof

https://twitter.com/utdxtra/status/1127292652871933952?s=19

Lukaku n Sanchez were already ruled out.

Valencia is there and will either start and get brought off or will get the last 20 mins I reckon.

Very disappointed that I'm not going to get the chance to say goodbye to Herrera. Hope he is there in some capacity though. No doubt the club don't want the fans to turn against the board tomorrow. Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if that's behind the decision to leave him out all together. I'm going to sing his name over and over. Woodward is in for an uncomfortable afternoon.

Hope we see Greenwood, Chong, Garner etc get most of the game.

We owe Herrera feck all. United have made him a very rich man and he's decided to leave.

He can give all the soppy crap on social media he wants to, he's an okay footballer who puts in a shift. I'd rather he stayed bit as he wants to go thanks and goodbye.

He isn't even close to being a club legend that deserves a big send off.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

He did it on United's channel, not his own.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Did it on Instagram too.

Not that it matters, adiós.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It's the owners and CEO who we should be saying adiós too.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
But Herrera was offered a deal and decided to leave. Why does he deserves your time?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Think of it from his perspective.

He played his heart out, with remember no tie to Man Utd other than when he was signed-he did nit support us as a kid as far as I know.

He sees players come in on huge wages. Sanchez, who’s done nothing, but is paid 4 or 5 tunes as much.

Pogba, good when conditions suit/or can be bothered, paid 3x as much.

No ambition or direction fro top (Woodward).

Would you stay? Let’s say it was you playing for; say Seville. You have no real ties other than you play for them. And you see less deserving names, get much more money, for doing less, especially in sanchez case?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If I left I wouldn't expect a huge reception

Herrera will be our latest unsung hero.

I’m not sure when we will be getting another one.

Herrera has every right to reject his deal, if it was deemed not good enough. There may be underlying issues as to why he did so.

When normal folk are offered contracts, they too get the chance to decide whether they want to accept or not. If there’s a chance to make better money under better circumstances, then why not? Footballers should be no different. It’s people’s livelihoods dependant on it. And yes, I know many PL footballers make big money - same principle.

And as been mentioned by others before - it could be that he felt undervalued as to why he didn’t sign.

I think any footballer would leave the current United to go to PSG. We just need to make the next couple of years as good as possible to rebuild our reputation as a club that is up there with every other side so for now we probably have to make do with signings from Swansea like James and other lowkey players.

Herrera has been with us for 5 years - that’s a decent amount of time for a player who has been good but not great for us

You can name the amount of United players in the entire history of the club who 'left' United, at the top of their game, by their own determination, for 'something better elsewhere' on one hand.

Indeed - that shows how poor we are at the moment. We may add the likes of Pogba and DDG to that in one summer.

I know it’s happened before, not dsiputing that. But this is happening during our difficult times.

And this can be viewed as issues with how the club is being run. Which is no surprise to anyone anymore. We are likely to be losing key players because the near future looks uncertain. And when a battler gives up and not just any player, that can speak volumes about this club.

my point is that it is a rare occurrence when a top United player decides the grass is greener elsewhere. Can only think of about 5 genuine examples previously.

I actually don't think fans on here appreciate how popular he is with us fans. He should have been captain for us last few seasons.

This.

Often seems to be differing opinions about United which (very generally) are held by the 75,000 supporters who attend and support United each week and the 659 million others who watch it on the telly.

75,000 don't attend and support United each week. Maybe 30,000 do. And amongst them you have wildly different opinions - no different to any other fans.

Where I sat, I had three guys in front of me who I argued with every week about the merits of various players.

Very disappointed that I'm not going to get the chance to say goodbye to Herrera.

I’m sure he feels the same
