De Gea out Cillissen in.. lol

Ed Woodward has informed David de Gea that he will not meet the financial terms he‘s asking for. United are looking at the market for alternatives and are considering selling him this summer. Jasper Cillessen is a potential replacement. He’d cost €25m. #mufc [Duncan Castles]

Mitten: “The situation with De Gea is that United have offered him a contract which makes him the best paid goalkeeper in the world and that’s not enough. The agents' fees are alarming. I don't think United should be held to ransom just because they have this wealth." #mufc [Sky]

Mourinho left behind Herrera. Bit cheeky taking him out wouldn't you say?

No, he also left him with 6 months on his contract before deciding he might like to keep him.

Our squad is better now than when Mourinho came in, no doubt. But it’s certainly not as stable given everything that has gone on this season.

No chance. Jose inherited:

DDG---------Smalling-----------Carrick---------Martial
Romero-----Rojo---------------Blind------------Rashford
Valdes------Shaw--------------Schwein--------Rooney
---------------Valencia----------Herrera---------Depay
---------------Jones--------------Fellaini---------Lingard
---------------Darmian-----------Mata------------Young
---------------Varela--------------Morgan--------Januzaj
---------------McNair-------------Pereira---------Wilson

Ole will have the following going into his first summer:

DDG---------Smalling-----------Pogba---------Martial
Romero-----Rojo----------------Fred------------Rashford
Grant--------Shaw---------------Matic------------Lukaku
---------------Dalot----------------McT------------Sanchez
---------------Jones--------------Pereira---------Lingard
---------------Darmian-----------Mata?---------------------
---------------Young-------------------------------------------
---------------Bailly---------------------------------------------
---------------Lindelof------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Wow when you put it like that. His squad just about better. If you factor in how toxic he was and the state of these guys, I will say nothing in it

Bearing in mind he had to manage the loss of veterans like Rio, Vidic, Evra, Giggs, RvP, Fletcher during this time I think it is a fair effort.

He rushed the departures of Nani, Rafael and Evans though.

Jose also got us back into the CL, got us more points and more goals per game

It’s laughable to suggest LVG should have stayed and would have done any better

Both were poor appointments whichever way you look at it.

They were which is why I’m looking forward, not back

Looking forward I’m hoping we don’t make the same mistake we did with Van Gaal and replace him with a coach that isn’t going to build on what came before. Hopefully with better foundations than what Van Gaal left as well.

I think Ole knows exactly what we need and the types to bring in. But I worry we won’t let the huge amount we need to let go this summer go. And next season we still might be seeing the likes of Jones, Smalling and Young in defence still

I doubt we’d be seeing them that often, not in the league anyway. Rb and cb seems to be two of the top priorities in the transfer market.

nah, i'm pretty confident the phasing out of Young will begin day one.. he's only got a year. This has to happen. Should of happened 2 seasons ago, but i will raise hell if Young starts or is the prefered choice for RB.
