Full or Empty?

Going back to the Grayson days of Drearie v Cheerie as Eric came up with, we find ourselves in a bit of a similar spot right now.

Are you?

Glass Full - Bielsa has brought football and identity back to Leeds and has made us a brillaint club once again, albeit at championship level (rightful level) He's got us playing attacking, thrilling football that a passionate fan base has brought into, as much as the players have. That's all that matters, we're a million miles away from the Cellino era, we're proud of Leeds again.

Or are you...

Glass Empty - Embarrassing that we were top 2 all season and caught by 2 sides with inferior resources to us in Norwich and Sheff Utd. We also threw away a 2 goal lead on aggregate to a team full of loanee kids and a striker who had previously scored 3 goals all season. Got laughed and mocked by most after the game and theres no garuntee we'll do as good next season

I was Empty on, Wednesday, Thursday........

Today, I'm full

A season that exceeded expectations. I'd like to feel optimistic for next season, but I think we will struggle to finish top 2.
Firstly our form tailed of badly in 2019. Maybe other teams worked out how to counter MB's methods. Maybe our small squad ran out of gas.
Secondly the relegated clubs have a massive financial advantage. Fulham and Cardiff might do well next season.
Thirdly Villa/Derby and WBA will again be strong challengers. I hope Villa win the play-off. Otherwise I expect them to be top 2 next season.
Fourthly the owners of some other clubs are willing to stretch FFP by creative accounting. I read an article about clubs selling their grounds and leasing them back in order to create "profits" which they can spend on strengthening their squads. I don't expect AR to invest much on new players this summer. A few other owners will.
Fifth - our recruitment in recent seasons has been mixed. We need to spend our transfers funds better and make more effective use of loans. I'm not confident this will happen.

So, even if MB stays, next season will be hard to maintain the upward trend, though I'd be confident about top 6.

I always try to be positive. Don't see the point in looking at it in an empty manner. Just going to make yourself miserable.

first i enjoyed in more than a decade. without bielsa i fear for the club. he is responsible for the amazing turn around we have witnessed this season.
imagine what he will do his second year.
the ending to the season wasn't what we hoped for but was so far ahead of every manager we've had since the P.L.
looking forward to next year if he is still here, not so much if he's gone. certainly not if he's replaced by the likes of fat sam.

Full. Bielsa has reignited LUFC and he has set the expectation that we will challenge again next season. This transfer window and the next one will be telling.

Stupid comparison.

Full, all aboard for next season.

Sign Bielsa up again, zero negativity and get our business done early

I actually felt as though I'd had a bereavement for a couple of days after the second leg.
I've now shaken that off and am in positive mode!

A war-chest for Bielsa and I'll be chomping at the bit for the next season to start.

Radrizzani and Bielsa have had the albatross of prior ownership and management from day one of their respective arrivals in Leeds.

Take out the horrible 13 years prior to their arrival and we would all be very happy with where the club is.

Not their fault that we had every crook and his friends with us before that!

Definite reasons for optimism here, despite all the negativity we still see here from the usual group of pessimists.

At the moment I am both! Still really hurting after the Weds debacle and fed-up of rival fans extracting the michael, but also very proud of the football the team played and the progress they made this season. I’m hoping Bielsa stays for at least one more season and starting to wonder who we will sign that can make the difference this time around. I feel Bielsa would be a reason for some players to choose us over other clubs.
