watching week by week.
So, I have binge watched GOT from the first episode of season 1 to the point where I'm all caught up in readiness for the final episode. However, I do feel that I'm not as invested in the characters as much as I would be had I have followed their character development over a period of time, watching week by week.
I have to say, that over the past couple of weeks, I have enjoyed waiting for the next episode to be on TV.
Great programme, but I think I would have enjoyed it more had I watched it from the beginning on a week by week basis.
Anybody prefer watching week by week rather than binge watching?

For me you understand more about each character and what is going on, especially in a series like Game of Thrones when there are so many characters and storylines in different parts of the world.
------
Binge watching would kill that, imo. You have no time to reflect and you are already on another story.

Reflect? I struggle to remember what happened in the previous episode so reflection does nothing for me. By the time a new episode comes around I've already forgot most of what happened in the previous episode and certainly when it comes to a new season I can barely remember a thing about what happened in the previous season.
Watched the first episode of the new season of 100 last night and had no clue what was going on and why certain characters hated others etc as I couldn't remember why. Had to Google it and restart the episode.

I realise not everybody has a crap memory like me but certainly for me binge watching is by far the best method.

There are good recaps on line.
When I binge watched the first 3 seasons of GoT I had to keep going to them to remind me who was who.

I watched them week by week and had no idea who was who. Binged watched them all before the new season and learned so many new things about who belonged to which family etc.
I'll try recaps from now on and see how I go as the one negative i find with binge watching is you can't wait until the next one. When I binged watched Breaking Bad I was up to 5am and going to work at 8am like a zombie.

The recaps are good for most shows.
Things like House of Cards for example though, there is no point watching if you dont binge it. A year in between seasons and I have completely forgotten everything.

I find I like to watch one show only at a time. That’s why binge watching works for me.
Hate it when you have 4 or 5 weekly shows going on at a time.

Binge watching everytime. This weekly wait for a episode is so last decade. Doing it for GOT because I've invested into it but give me other shows like Billions I am waiting for them to be all recorded before viewing.
Problem with GOT is the spoiler element which other shows dont have.

Watched GoT from it came out, week by week. I must say I've enjoyed looking forward to episodes each week. I think with binge watching there is an element of just trying to get caught up in which you don't take time to appreciate it.
