Bobby is back in full training so it looks like Naby will be the only miss which is a shame given how he’s come on in the last few months

Let’s just hope we’re at it, if we are we should put right up em and see how see how the respond

Reckon there will be goals and we’re do em 4-2 on the night

This final turns a good season into a great season for Spurs and a great season into a fantastic season for Liverpool.
--------------------------
What a load of bollox. If Spurs win it, it will be a sensational season for them. Fack me, spending nothing for 18 months, even selling players, and winning the CL. Good luck with your great season for Liverpool, winning exactly nothing.

Spurs spend what they earn. They spent their money on building a new stadium and I can imagine the money they have earnt in recent years has gone into developing that new stadium. Just because they haven't bought anybody for 18 months doesn't mean the club hasn't spent money.

Liverpool sold Coutinho for £142m, signed Van Djik for £75m and Alisson for £67m. Now that to me sounds like breakeven so Liverpool have also sold and spent money. Say what you like about spending money on Keita, Fabinho etc in the summer, that's from the money Liverpool have earnt. If you've got the money there to invest on the playing squad, do it. Improve the team, like anybody would.

Just because Liverpool have done this and Spurs haven't doesn't make it anymore/less a success for Liverpool if they win it. It's a choice where you spend your money, Spurs do it one way, Liverpool do it another.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Of course, how much a club spends against how well do does matter?

Otherwise, clubs would just go out and keep spending for years and get nothing and that can't be judged as same as one doesn't spend much but achieves more
Dah!

----------------------------------------------------------------------
OK let me rephrase, they bought no players for 18 months. Happy? My point still stands
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So what? Did they need to buy anybody to still be a good side? They were involved in a couple of title races and have always had good players throughout their squad. You could arguably say they could have been somewhere near the latter stages of the CL couple of years back when they were serious title challengers. You don't go from serious title challengers to average in 18 months when the bulk of your squad doesn't change massively.

I think your personal and fickle dislike of Liverpool has taken over here.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Spurs haven't bought anyone in 18 months, there wage build is far less that Liverpools. So obviously for the players and management it would be a huge success.

No one is disputing that Liverpool are a bigger club and bring in more money to splash out on players transfers and wages.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes, for Spurs it be a HUGE success compared with Liverpool who have spend £200 million in 2 transfer windows and have a massive wage bill in comparison.

With so much money spent, Liverpool are expected to do well

Liverpool have done well to catch up to Spurs and overtake them. People forget the cowboys left us out of Europe, making annual losses and on the brink of administration. Its how Spurs got into Europe in the first place.

Our owners have worked brilliantly. We have come back to this level using our own funds and by being smart. We sold Torres, one of the valuable players left at the time and bought Carroll and Suarez for 23m. One failed, the other we sold for three times the purchase price.

We had also bought Coutinho for 8m because at that time we had no mega bucks to spend. We sold him for 142m and signed VVD and Keita and so on.

Spurs fans are using the money as an excuse but we have been smart, that's why we have been so good. United have much more money but have gotten worse and Spurs are a better team. However, if any team is better than Spurs their fans put it down to money.

Spurs are introverted in the transfer market. Liverpool have grown by allowing the side to evolve, selling top players, being clever and signing even more top players at a fraction of the cost.

Spurs have held on to their stars, since Bale, and won't let go, afraid. Now Eriksen could run down his contract, as has Alderweireld. Loss of opportunity there. They are afraid to let go.

Selling Eriksen at the right time, or even Kane would allow them to continue to build, its not the end of the world.

It’s a prediction ffs.

just because u totts are using this game as a free hit, are too afraid to back your team because your afraid of the losing doesn’t mean I can’t back my team.

Spineless bunch of fackin mincing cants

Get to the point, say what you mean Pranks, stop prevaricating!

A whole week to go. Torture. You have my sympathies Pranks, I'm in the same boat, as I'm sure many of our fellow Reds are.

But, just hang on in there, there's a great game in front of us - no, absolutely no predictions from me - let's see where we go.

YNWA.

But you only have to look at the likes Man United domestically and Man City and PSG in the CL to show you that money doesn't always buy you success. Of course you expect a team to be better if they spend money, but that isn't always a formality.

You've still got to be able to manage the players which is harder to do when you're spending more money, bringing in players on big wages etc. The pressure Liverpool have had this season with all of these players, being able to keep them happy is still an achievement. That's a difficult one to do and that is where most of the managers fail at top clubs, being able to deal with the personnel.

this long build up IMO has probably levelled the field completely.

Its almost certainly taken the edge off Liverpool but given spurs much needed breathing room to get a side together.

For me If the game had been 2 weeks ago liverpool would have won it 100%

At this point for me anything could happen. I fully expect it to be a scrappy affair as they players have had too long off now.
