The “why would he sign for Utd?” argument

Firstly I still don’t think we’ll get De Ligt but I keep seeing this argument from opposition fans and indeed some of our own. Acting like any player joins solely for the money.

Ok we’re not a great side right now but we’re still a massive club.

The lad is 19 years old. He has possibly 15 more years at the top. Just because we aren’t great now doesn’t mean that we can’t turn this around.

Maybe the lad wants the challenge of trying get United back to the top rather than stepping into a ready made side.

As I said I still don’t think this will happen but I’ll be delighted if we do. If someone said pick 5 players for United to sign with no conditions he’d be on my list.

In fact so is Billy Liddell.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Indeed. Neither came from Liverpool.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm not sure I get your point.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No point.

Gerry and the Pacemakers or Billy J Kramer and the Dakotas. With a gun to your head, who was the best?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I've never heard of the latter so I'm gonna go with the former.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Carla Lane or Jimmy McGovern?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I have no idea who they are.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Degsy Hatton or Esther McVey?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I haven't heard of Degsy Hatton. Are you making these names up?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's all good, we're building a profile.

Eric's or Cream?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'll run with it.

I'm gonna say Cream.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Your favourite Grace?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's a trick question. The first one obviously. Olivia Newton John. Wow.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
East Lancs Road or M62?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I really don't have an answer here.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Last one.... B&M or Home Bargains?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's like choosing between a shlt sandwich and spunk soup.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That’s life in Liverpool

So what's my profile? I like 1960s music, Liverpudlian politicians and spunk soup?

Well that was fun. I guess I'll have a sleep now before the reality of work in the morning kicks in.

Let me know if you sign anybody decent.

451!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Or 000000111000011 in binary.

I sure know how to keep a conversation going and keep it interesting.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nice!

1C3 in hexadecimal if you care.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Thanks for that. I only care if you did the steps rather than use a converter.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Of course, I'm a nerd. It's not hard.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm still trying to work out why I had to learn how to convert decimal to binary etc when I can use a converter, doing it in much less time. I doubt I could even remember how to get to hex now, without the use of a converter. Something about dividing by 16 obviously but then it gets hazy.

This thread has just got really exciting all of a sudden.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If you think binary and hex is exciting, sit down and prepare to have your mind blown!

A far more exciting data conversion and storage system is to convert everything into the four DNA nucleotides (adenine, guanine, thymine and cytosine), then create artificial DNA strands coding for anything which can be stored in bacteria.

A few years ago some scientists converted the lyrics to "It's a Small World Afterall" into DNA and stored it in an extremophile bacteria that can survive high radioactivity, basically making an immortal molecular size library system!
