Sigh

Expected £15m losses for 18/19

£5m for loans of Harrison/Baker/Blackman/Brown. Thats more than the 4 players are worth to buy outright!!!!!!!!

Have always said that loans are a false economy for us, getting crocked loans even more so.

Useless loans too

Re brown... we started paying in jan... when he was declared ‘fit’. Whether it was triggered by an u23 appearance, match day squad appearance, or just agreement between the clubs, I’m not sure.

Useless loans too
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Derby - Wilson, Mount, Tomori
Wigan - James, Robinson
Villa - Abraham, Mings, Tanzuebe, Johnson
Sheff U - Hogan, Madine, Henderson
WBA - Barnes, Adarabioyo

To name the obvious ones.

We had the worst bunch

The reality is we have to sell.

This is where it gets difficult to discuss.

There is no way we can allow a core group of players to leave. The spine of the team is Jansson, Cooper, Phillips, Hernandez and Roofe

You then have key players who perhaps wouldn't create much value. Ayling, Alioski, Roberts

Then you have decent squad options who again wouldn't fetch much - Berardi, Dallas etc

So to then discuss players who haven't been SIGNIFICANT yet would be a shame to lose. The obvious one is Clarke. I would hate to lose him. Local, immensely talented and the world at his feet. BUT, not a regular and if we got a good offer..Is there a chance of a deal and a loan back.

Sometimes you have to sacrifice.

Forshaw...I expect he is on a bit...Same with Douglas. I would be tempted to cash in if we could.

Bamford. He does score. But not convinced he takes enough chances. Would someone buy him for our outlay?

Its never as simple as we sometimes like to say. For example: 6m for him and 5m for him mean we have 11m.

Personally, I would stick with the keeper. He was edgy in a few games but was otherwise decent.

I want a cover centre back as Jansson and Cooper do miss a few. I don't mind if thats a loan.

We desperately need a number 10. Could we go back for Vydra - He would fit perfectly into this system and isn't getting game time at Burnley. Likely 10m outlay? If that was our only summer signing, I could accept that.

Ideally need a winger or 2 as well. I wasn't too happy with any of last seasons loans to be honest. The lad Sims at Southampton has a bit of pace and could be a good option.

There was obviously the link to James but he looks to be downgrading to Man U.

The problem we have is its the spine that is the asset that is worth the money.
