Ozil

What an absolute waste of space!
I have seen our glorious female team players make more physical challenges than this flimsy German.
If he can’t be shifted, just stick him in the reserves until he facks off in 2021.

Agreed, but whilst we played better in the first half than the second, we still didn’t dominate possession - which is when Ozil is at his best.

Being substituted for Willock - a youngster Emery should have played way more this season than he did, but for whatever reason didn’t - was basically the German being told in the most public way possible that he’s played his last game for Arsenal.

I said earlier in the season that this would be a long, sad goodbye for Ozil, and so it’s proved to be.

Thanks for the memories, Mesut. It was almost a blast.

He's a youtube highlights player, has great talent but not a great player. One of the most overrated in the game.

The only reason we pulled his contract is because of Ozil bursting our wage bill. And if it wasn't for the 350k we could have got Ramsey signed on a lot less than what he ended up asking for.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yup but too many Ozil fanboys wanted him kept for that to happen. We all paying for it now. And since we have a tightowner. We'll keep paying for it til his contract runs out.

Shame we can't sue him for breach of contract based on his repeated poor showings, with no injury or other external factor being the cause. He's blatantly a player not doing or interested in doing his job. He's not even trying. So what we paying him for. The gargantuan money now involved in football dictates it's time for a change in player wage terms. Nobody should be getting millions a year for performing that deliberately poorly.

Wage leeching as Ozil is, needs to be stopped and the only way is to start giving players contracts with terms that mean if they do it, they don't get paid.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
As annoying as he is I don't blame him for signing the contract, the club has to be blamed for offering him in the first place. He was playing well at the time and Sanchez was off, it would have taken massive balls to let him leave for free and fans would have gone mental but that's what we should have done.

Özil is a great player in great teams.

Unfortunately we’ve not had a great team in more than a decade.

Great Players make great teams..... Ozil is nothing more than a lightweight showpony

Ozil is a fraud. Must get rid.

I sincerely hope this was his last game. Don't care whether he moves to China or wherever. He could probably get a long list of clubs after him if he'd take a significant pay cut, but he doesn't seem the type to rescue his career at the expense of his jumbo pay.

Ozil had less assists (3) than Alexis Sanchez this season (4).

'I sincerely hope this was his last game.'

He was replaced by Emery with a teenager that the manager has at no point during the season shown much trust in, in the highest profile way possible.

I know it will be hard to move him on, but I'd now be hugely surprised if Ozil plays for us again.

If the club has any sense lingering they won’t even ask a potential buyer for a transfer fee. Just let him go for free and get him off the wage bill. We can not risk not selling him over a facking transfer fee

Even then we'll struggle to find someone to match his wages, unless we subsidise some of it. We have to hope the backlash after the final will make him reconsider his future.
