Auba and Laca leave to look for CL football elsewhere.
The rest of the PL will outspend Arsenal .
Forget CL for now
Within 5 years forget any European Football
Unless Kroenke does invest seriously and we discover some great players in the youth team.

Or you can look at it from view if we were basically 1 win away from making it this year, with a squad no one really expected to be within a shout. The key is we just can’t stand still anymore , as obviously rivals will improve. The owners are going to have to invest before we slip back to being miles away. There needs to be a big squad overhaul, and a change in attitude. No fair weather players and passengers anymore. Can’t just buy players based on their ability to complete short passes alone.
It’s a big summer, first in complete control of KSE, they have to step up, otherwise with a team largely of bottlers we are not going to improve. No ambitious manager you hire would want to compete with these players

I know Arsenal are in the Europa through finishing 5th.
I am referring to what a struggle it will be going forward
in future seasons to even get a EL place.
I forgot to add Newcastle to the list of clubs we will be competing with.
In fact we will become like Newcastle with no one being with happy with Ashley until now

Think we'll be 5th again next season. United seem the most likely to drop even further at the moment but long term they'll eventually recover due to their financial muscle

Apologies OP in my fit of anger at the shambolic performance of the team last night I probably jumped in with both feet in my reaction. My bad. I agree with your sentiments about where we might be competing in the next few seasons.

I think the players will give us one more season considering how close we were. If we dont get CL for the 20/21 season then i expect departures. I would expect us to change managers too
