Trophies

Whenever a team wins a CL trophy, more specifically an English team, I always wonder will Arsenal ever win one within our life times?

Heck, when will our next PL trophy come? Long, long way away. Liverpool 6 years ago were in similar position as we are. But I strongly doubt the club will give the financial muscle Liverpool owners provided to get them in this situation. Losing the Europa Final was one of the lowest points for sure.

Hard to see Arsenal winning the league or the CL for a loooong time. This was the Spuuds’ big chance, I think they’re in a similar boat.

There is plenty wrong at arsenal to stand her alone from her rivals. I read a good article the other day about the amount of money we have made from player sales over the ten years and it was insane, it was like £70,000,000!!! Clubs like Liverpool and Spurs sell their players for the absolute maximum, milking every penny! On the flip side we over pay on player valuations ... Xhaka and Mustafi coming to mind but even the mini amounts on unknowns, we always make a loss eventually.

Now we are letting players run fine contracts or giving the under performers gigantic wages. Just think Atletico got Griezman* to sign a big contract with the promise they would sell him this summer and will make a killing. (I’m guessing that’s how it went, I mean he only just signed a new deal and then he wants to leave).

I think we bought in to the story that we were well run but actually we have been awfully managed! It is almost criminal negligence, from Wenger to Gazadis, the Kroenkes..,,looking back I do not even think Mislintat* did very good with some of his scouting.

So much to rectify behind the scenes and on the pitch. With no added investment and a new manager who blew two chances of getting in to the champions league, and will not have a number of players next season (Ramsey), it could be a long old wait

You were more of a force in Europe in the mid to late 2000s. Can't see you getting close in the near future tbh.

If I saw correctly, Liverpool owner was on the pitch yesterday, celebrating with the players, fans and singing YNWA.
If what I'm been told is correct, it's been almost 2 years since Stan was seen at a game!

That's the big difference between Arsenal and not just Liverpool but the rest of the top 6. We are deeply s.crewed.

The process it takes to build a winning team starts at the very top - the owners. Their enthusiasm should permeate down through the board members, through to the coaching staff and eventually to the players.

Kroenke is the antithesis of that.

2016 was our best shot at winning the league, when everyone else was crap. We still only made 70 ish points.

If we could get to the final with even tighter resources there is no reason why it can't be done again and to win it this time. The reason why we were so awful in Europe despite qualifying almost every season for the CL was because of the manager. Thats changed.

It’s possible just depends on ambition of the owners and if they have a clear plan of how to move forward. But We’re basically in Liverpool’s position when they were under hicks and Gillette at the moment

I guess in terms of Stan's ambitions to win silverware (or lack of them).

I think you forget that Fenway would have sold us Luis Suarez for £50m or even been forced to let him go at £40m had we been more forceful.

They are just looked on more favourably because Liverpool are winning big trophies again.

Interfering ownerships can be bad or good under different circumstances.

Though I agree that Stan maybe should have handed over our management to Josh earlier and have criticised him for trusting Wenger too much. I prefer the non interfering ownership more tbh.
