Hope not. That whole world cup adventure push us back few days behind few clubs in starting pre-season and ultimately caused injuries and lethargic response from the players

Dele is not the only player that needs to up his game. Most of the players were well below par for most of the season. Since the New Year they have been frankly shocking. The CL aside, which has been a complete rollercoaster, as a lot of cup competitions are.

I well remember the 1970s, how in the early 1970s Spurs were mixing it with the big boys and winning trophies, by the mid 1970s it had all rapidly gone downhill and relegation followed. I don`t want the same thing to happen to this team, but the form since the New Year and especially the last dozen Prem games has been something akin to relegation form.

Need at least four new players to slot straight into the first XI, and Dele`s place may be under threat then.

I finally found the minerals to watch the final again earlier this evening and although nobody could accuse Dele of not trying nothing worked for him.

We had a 3 on 3 just before half time and his dreadful ball through summed up his performance. He looks like a flair player who can't understand why what used to naturally come off is going all over the shop. His confidence looks shot to me.

As a side issue my sympathy for Sissoko fell away a bit as I hadn't realised how long he had his arm up before the ball hit it. So naive!!

Both need to up their game next season. Poch will have no excuses if he spends big and still fails to deliver.

I think next season is crunch time for Ali. He needs to get fit and get some drive back into his game.

The thing I find about him is that he plays on the edge, he’s always keeping the ball right on the edge and when it comes off, it’s a chance or a good break but when it doesn’t, it looks terrible.
