Media Watch: 'No interest' in midfielder?

Summer is here, so it’s no surprise to see transfers and pre-season featuring on the back pages.

Thursday's Media Watch gossip includes an update on an ongoing rumour, while the press have started to discuss which youngsters may receive a call-up to our 2019 pre-season tour.
The rumour in question regards the future of Bruno Fernandes, who it is now suggested City won't be bidding for this summer.
It has previously been claimed City were interested in the Sporting Lisbon midfielder, but the the Daily Star report otherwise.
Writes Dan Gibbs: “Manchester City have also been strongly linked with the 24-year-old, who bagged 31 goals for his club across all competitions.
“But according to Portuguese newspaper A Bola, City sources have confirmed to them they are no longer interested, meaning United have a free run at signing the young talent.

"‘Manchester City are not and have never been interested in the player Bruno Fernandes. They do not and does not intend to make any offer for the player,’ a City source is quoted as saying by A Bola."
To pre-season now, and the Manchester Evening News has named five Academy players they believe have a shot of earning a spot in the tour party this summer.
Taylor Harwood-Bellis, Nathanael Ogbeta and Iker Pozo are amongst those listed as having a chance.
