Rashford

That's factually correct, dunc. Our best spells of attacking football this season have heavily featured Lingard, Rashford and Martial.

I'd like to see Rashford (and Martial) playing in a coherent side with pace and energy throughout the midfield before making any definitive statements about their ceilings. They obviously do need to improve if they are going to be integral to our future though.

Personally I think Rashford is just fine. The worrying thing about our attack is how bad we are at making the killer pass or cross.

So many forwards have come and failed at the club recently. There's massive deficiencies to our build up play and final ball.

Ive said this all along, our defence and particularly RB, and the CBs have been absolutely dreadful on the ball the last few seasons, Shaw was slightly better last year but even that LB side to, Lindelof is the only one who looks comfortable enough on the ball to come out of defence and pick out some decent passes.

Agree with this. Our ball retention and being able to press higher up the pitch would be much improved too if we had players in those areas that weren't afraid in possession.

Quality youngster who really does have the potential to be our striker for many years.

He's done very well even with all the chaos at OT. Great debut season under LVG and shined in a desperate Jose side. Really looking forward to him hopefully progressing further if we back Ole for a few years.

Better to just enjoy his progress rather than judging him too much.

Rashford just needs to revert back to basics a little bit. He's guilty of trying too many stupid flicks and pot-shots and over-complicating things.

What made him such a threat when he burst onto the scene was his pace, his running at players and a coolness in front of goal.

If as a team we can move the ball faster, win the ball back quicker and play with good movement and tempo then I think we'll see not just the best of him but of a few of our players.

Totally agree Berba. Martial, Jesse and Rashford have all been criticised and they do deserve it to some extent. That said, our tactics and build-up play from defence and midfield has been sadly lacking.

I agree. Perhaps he's been trying a little too hard to make things happen when he was more effective making things happen with his movement, pace and finishing.

All our attackers seem to think they're the next David Silva ffs.

Players like Martial, Rashford, even Lukaku does it, coming short and fecking about around the edge of the box before stumbling over the ball and losing it.

Literally the opposite of playing to their strengths.

Martial I think must've been getting fast track lessons from Valencia in how to forget to beat a man.

Agree with this. They should be running in behind. What we really miss is a AM that can run at the heart of the opposition and create panic. If you have someone driving through the middle it creates space for the attackers to run into. That is why I would be interested in Coutinho. Can run at players and pick a pass.
