Please take him back to Turkey

While Ozil's on field contributions have been awful recently he's now chumming it up, well in fact has chosen Recep Erdogan to be best man at his wedding.

Fair play on the wife though, he's punching there

Not sure the title of the article is all that great though, Scruts. Ozil is third gen Turkish-German, born in Germany.

Lex

I was just about to reply to your first comment then saw this.

I meant purely in footballing terms to take him back to Turkey, there's no German club that would pay even a third of the wages he's on right now but Turkish clubs are known for bringing in past it players on top money (him chumming up with a despot like Erdogan could be positive in that regard)

Okay, fair enough.

We need him off the wage bill, so tbh I don't mind where he goes next. Still like him as a player, he's just not what Arsenal 2019/20 needs.

Yep just need him out. It's not just his wages as an individual thing, it's their knock on effect that means he really needs to go

He's an odd chap sometimes.

Doesnt help that the way we are playing at the moment doesnt allow him to do what he does best.

Guy had like 2 assists all season with Auba and Laca as our strikers. He's had a very poor season.

System doesn’t suit him yes. But he can’t use that as an excuse for this form. He should still be offering so much more. He’s got the talent to contribute more in whatever system he just only applies himself when it suits him. Maybe he’s just going down hill fast now, he is in his thirties he could be dropping off as a player anyway

Is there any club left in world football that actually thinks Ozil is worth his wages?

The guy has no balls and would rather see out his contract producing weak performances and focusing on his "brand", than actually proving something to himself (or others) on the pitch. The sooner we can get rid of such pansies the better.
