Soccer aid at Stamford Bridge, old guard

playing.

Going under the radar a bit but quite a lot of the old guard will be taking to the Stamford Bridge pitch once more for soccer aid on Sunday. Drogba, Essien, Terry, Joe Cole and Ricardo Carvalho will all be back at The Bridge on Sunday.

Usually I don't really bother with this but will be quite an occasion to see our 00's boys again.

For whatever reason we don't seem to do them (iirc Zola was the last and that was more a token half hour in a friendly).

So i guess this is the next best thing if you block out the "celebrities" like Piers Morgan that's going to be there.

£60+ a ticket...

I get it’s for charity but for a family event that’s extortionate

Why did none of our legends get testimonials at Stamford Bridge?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Historically testimonials were for raising money for players who had been loyal to the club and were ready to retire from the game.I think it's fair to say that modern day footballers do not need any extra help with retirement savings.

I'm going. Also got a ticket early on so it was cheaper. Really enjoyed the old boys v Inter last year. Petrescu was hilarious.

DD is still looking sharper than anything we have right now. JT put in a good shift still looks in good form, Ess was a steam train again. Joe Cole still trickey. one special moment was a DD rabona cross. Eric Cantona what a fat fuc* hes turned into.

I actually thought Essien was awful, Glen Johnson (who for some reason was playing CM) destroyed him.

The best Chelsea legend on the night was Carvalho despite being at fault for the opener.
