First off, it’s perhaps a sign that the board have learned their lesson over the McGinn saga but it could also be the case that they simply rate Turnbull much higher.
It’s a good signing, obviously question marks remain over whether he can make an impact straight away but you get the feeling he will, he’s got an arrogance about him and he can definitely hit a baw. His passing range appears to be one of his biggest assets so it would be good to freshen that up in our midfield instead of the sheidty backwards passing for the sake of it.
On that point actually, I don’t expect it to be anywhere near that again under Lennon, his teams are all about getting it into the final 3rd as quickly as possible, I’d just hope we don’t go too direct and start pinging baws up to a big hoof up front if we sign one.
In other news, the latest rumour which does appear to have some substance is Christopher Julien, rated at around £7 million by Toulouse and did play with Edouard a few years back. Looks a cracking signing on paper and I remember seeing him once and he was outstanding, big no nonsense centre half but he can play a bit as well, if we get that done this week as well then I’ll tilt my hat to the board.
Still need a RB and forward in once we get a centre half in
Nonetheless, credit to the board for this one and hopefully Turnbull agrees terms today.
