Best kits

There are one or two articles that can be found regarding the best LUFC kits over the years.

Whatever you might think about the different designs, and there have been some decent ones as well as some stinkers, for me, any kind of advertising on the front of the shirts cheapens the whole "package".

I understand that it's the way it is and has been since the early 80s, and also that it brings in revenue, but in my opinion the 2015-16 season was the best one when there was no sponsor's name on the shirt.

I've always disliked any form of advertising on football shirts and resisted buying one with a brand name on the front. This commercial exploitation even extends to snooker, with players having brand name patches on their waistcoats and shirt sleeves. Quite simply, it looks crass in my eyes.

There's nothing stylish about having brand names plastered all over your sporting attire but unfortunately it's part and parcel of sport these days.

On a side note, they talk about a gambling epidemic yet so many clubs are sponsored to the point of monopoly by 32Red - Leeds included. How long before gambling firms are banned from advertising in the same way as cigarettes were?

Thoughts anyone?

By the way, you can tell it's the close season, eh? A little something to alleviate the boredom while we wait for our first marquee/wig-wam signing

Best kit was the late 60s all white strip with the owl badge. It's what reminds me about when the White Revie-lution began......

I prefer concept kits and would like us to look a bit cooler than our generic white, blue collar, random sponsor. I liked Chelsea's of last season, a white version of that with pin yellow and blue stripes would be nice imo.

I actually like some advertising. I’ve still got quite a few & I like the look (& the drinks!), but they help me date them.

I do respect the alternate view & for the reasons given. It’s a pretty objective thing I suppose.

To be honest I don’t care what the design is, within reason, as long as the team wearing them have us top of the league 👍🏽👍🏽

Agree 100% with this article!

I will not by any team products with advertising other than the apparel brand, of course!

Can't say I'm too bothered about advertising, agree with VOF it helps date them.. everytime I see the 'Top man' shirt I think of that Wilko team!

as for colours.. I still think the best shirt we've had was the blue and gold stripes.. brilliant kit... and Leeds's original colours.. I'd love us to bring that back as an away kit.
