DOF

I know Director of Football (or whatever the title might be) articles have been done a lot on here, but I have a question that I haven’t seen asked on here before.

It was widely suggested that we were going to appoint one this summer, but that plan seems to have gone by the wayside.

Do you think that Ed has one last chance to get things right, and if it goes t!ts up, the Glazers will remove him from his current role? Part of me really hopes this is the case. If he somehow manages to do well, great. If he doesn’t, he’s replaced. Great. Trying to be positive so this could be a win win situation.

RDD need not comment.

We just want our club run properly. The proof that is hasn't been run properly is the fact that we've gone from Champions to 6th place whilst two of our biggest rivals have won the PL and CL this season.

I'm in!

My first job would be to hire someone who can marry up the commercial and the footballing side of things. Someone who understands what the footballing side of things need whilst also being mindful that there are certain financial (and other) constraints.

Woodward said last year: "Playing performance doesn't really have a meaningful impact on what we can do on the commercial side of the business."

And this is why we need a DOF to make football related decisions before any commercial decisions are made about players we sign.

.................

It is becoming even more evident every passing day.
