Platini Nabbed

The architect of FFP, a series of nonsense, anti-competitive 'rules' that don't seem to apply to any of his former clubs is being held on suspicion of corruption.

https://news.sky.com/story/michel-platini-french-football-star-detained-on-suspicion-of-corruption-over-2022-world-cup-11743932

'Back in 2015, when still one of the sport's most powerful figures, Platini told me he had "no regrets" about voting for Qatar, despite the allegations of corruption and human rights abuses directed against the country, and the havoc a winter tournament would play with the European game he represented at the time.

He may feel differently now.' (BBC)

Bent as fek.

Platini meets with the Qataris and Sarkozy (a PSG fan).
Next thing you know the world cup is in Qatar and they start pumping billions into PSG. What are the odds?

Crazy isn't it? I mean, obviously football couldn't be in any way related to international money laundering.

Joe Lewis would be the man to answer that question.

Is Platini's son still associated with PSG and the Qataris?? Just a coincidence that Platini voted for the employers of his son to be awarded the WC.
UEFA should be wound up and a new body, which is fit for purpose put in its place.

Wouldn't be happy about this just yet. You don't know that City haven't been bribing him behind the scenes.

He was very anti oil clubs at the start and then seemed to shut up all of a sudden. Might not just be Qatar that have filled his pockets. The UAE aren't exactly above that are they?

You really need to do some research about Qatar and the UAE SE...

He's an ignorant imbecile

UEFA should be abolished and any club found guilty in the CAS of trying to restrain trade punished by a long ban.

Have to say, I do think people are looking in the wrong place when they blame Platini or Uefa, at least wholly. Their hands were tied a lot (and continue to be). It’s sumilar to the fa and the premier league, it ultimately comes down to certain clubs.

I absolutely loved Platini as a player, but what an utter cn ut he is as a person.

Melts, hopefully all the pressure for restraint of trade (FFP) will come out soon and those behind the cartel punished. It might be sport but these are businesses too and restraint of trade is illegal pretty much everywhere.
