Sounds like AWB is off to United for 47mln & add ons..... Sure its a lot of money but under a good coach that kid is only gonna get better & could be their starting RB for the next 6-7 years.

Point was more about someone like AWB learning under Poch.
Lingard is crap BTW and not that young & Phelan is another one of these United types who gets way more credit than he deserves for being a "club man". Pretty sure his best years at United were when SAF was in his pomp !

Why do some consistently moan about things which they are no real knowledge about.
The fall back is always to lay the blame for things at DL’s door, when in reality it could be entirely the fault of an opposing chairman
Also as has been pointed out, fees have rocketed because a) other clubs have benefited from television rights. b) Foreign clubs automatically add £25-30m to a player’s value when a PL club comes calling.
That is why as has been pointed out by Ace, due diligence needs to be even more effective and to minimise mistakes.
In regard to Lyon, their Chairman makes DL look like a philanthropic saint in comparison.
We are a financially secure club for specific reasons, the main ones being we have a top business person in charge, and also he is a real fan and has been long before he became chairman
