Can we follow up CL win with the Prem?

Tbh the opportunity to win the premier league this coming season is compared to other seasons fairly reasonable.

Arsenal, CFC, Spurs, M Utd are either rebuilding massively, losing key players, changing manager or have other issues. M City meanwhile have some of their key players the wrong side of 30 and have lost their main leader in kompany. Of course city will buy but that consistency of having a settled group in their peak is now gone, the likes Silva, Aguero are ageing and as I said Kompany has left.

Liverpool made up 23 points on city last year in 1 season and that was without Gomez and AOC plus we lost Coutinho. You have to feel a mf player will come in and a LB while AOC and Gomez should be ready to go.

The lift winning a trophy, arguably the biggest one in European football no less will fill the players with a bigger confidence than they had last season, they know they are winners now, they also know the pressure of a title race and how important not losing to rivals is.

It was a surprise how well we did last season, it wont be this season and I can see Henderson lifting the title come seasons end....and if we dont, then I doff my cap to City once more, 3 times in a row would be incredible imo.

I personally fi nit think we can get that many points again where as city will prob get close to that mark as well

Also big issue for me is the afcon and copa l. Our front three will need big rest and I wont be surprised them missing many games at start of the season. We therefore have to manage that.

Yes, I think you can and will. I tipped you last year, and will do the same this year. Not because you are better or worse, but because you want the title (whatever you say now) and City want the CL.

Don't think us or city will get so many points again. More teams will put up a harder fight seeing as Cardiff and Fulham are gone.

Id say its 50:50 at the moment, have to see what signings are made that could change that. We won't get through the season without injury to Mo or Sadio so we need cover.

Any other team GB and you would be right but there is one main reason why City is in the position they are in besides the money and thats Guardiola.

He is the closest thing to Fergie, probably way more talented than Fergie but its the winning mentality that sets him apart from everyone else. Jose used to have it once upon a time.

Any other manager Liverpool would walk the league but not with Pep in charge.

I dont agree with Ace, Pep will certainly freshen it up. Silva wasnt a key player in the second half of the season, Fernandinho barely played half the games of the second half of the season, and as influential as Kompany is in the dressing room, he barely played 15 games.

Another important point to note is Peps teams get better in his 3rd and 4th season as they start to pass the ball faster and better. For me this City team is not even as good as the Bayern team that lost to Atletico in the 2016 semi's of the Champions League. That team simply passed the ball faster and pressed far better than this City team. But lately it seems Pep is stuck between trying to control games and blitzing the opposition and leaving himself open.

In the later stages of the Champions League, Pep's teams keep suffering for playing high up the pitch and not scoring enough goals. The second leg at the Etihad against Liverpool in the CL was another example where they obliterated Liverpool in the first half, only scored one goal and Liverpool killed them off in the second half.

It will be interesting to see what approach he takes this season in the CL. I personally think they will get 90 again this season. If they can do it while losing 4 games then Im sure they can do it again.

If KDB plays at least 80% of the games next season City will walk the league in my opinion. VAR will play a huge role anyway.

No

It will only go downhill from here.

Liverpool will come back to the pack next season. They won`t have another season like last season, where goalies were gifting them goals left right and centre. Oh and VAR will cause them a fair few problems with their players not able to dive for fear of getting booked. Spurs will strengthen and will be playing at home for the whole season for the first time in three seasons, massive advantage.

Must mean the pen in the CL final was legitimate seeing as VAR was in operation.

You can stop crying about it now Sandy.

My concern with us is our players involvement in the AFCON. Mane and Salah aren't going to get the rest they need.
