Clarke to leave this week

Noises coming from journalists on Twitter that a deal with spurs is close. £8million fee rising to £13million dependent on clauses.

A lot of fans seem unhappy with that, but I think getting £8million for a player who started 4 games is a good deal. It's always disappointing to see Leeds sell their best young talent but whilst we are in the Championship, we can't turn down this kind of money.

Clarke is very, very raw and his performance from February onwards was pretty awful. He's got a lot of potential but in reality had 4 good games last season (Bristol, Villa, Forest, Derby). Not certain that he would have repeated his good cameos again next season, so if a player has to leave, then this is the least bad option. The criticism you can make is that if he goes and has a great season, he's worth ten million more.

Now to start signing some wingers.

Clarke hasn't shown he can do it any more than a handful of games. He was knackered when he started games. How many talented young players have just faded away into obscurity? An £8million fee that can rise is a big price for someone who has proven very little so far, Spurs are taking a risk for his potential.

Amazing that anyone thinks we could or should get more than that for him. Whether you think we should sell is a different argument. He's made 4 starts!

Best, Clarke hasn’t started his career yet, why do spurs want him ? I would sell any player at the right price if we have no money, of course we have no money,
£8 million is robbing us
Will bring in a few loan players that are usually useless, false economy.

"Calling Germany and Lubo and Kamara naive is the truth not insults.
Thank goodness they don’t agree with me!
I would be incredibly worried if they did."

Feck me, there's only three off us, I thought the Noddy was against anyone that disagreed with him!..

Crap, how strange life can be!..

8mill for Clark + add on's is a very good price, and I'd think his career started when he got taken on by the club!..

Another well written bit off crap by Mr Leeds, lets all bow to the master crap taker and heed his words, I mean, if we don't our brains will turn into nuts and we'll turn naive and be called the clueless peace off his brain matter!..

Promotion, some crap written somewhere on these boards a lot off days, one or two are good at it, but nobody does it quite as good as you!..

Because they can afford to take that risk as they have CL income and this is the sort of signing they tend to go for - Young players that can bring on and increase their value.

why does football trust an 18 year old to make a sensible decision about his career. these type of deals should be made illegal, the only party who will see any benefit is the agent brokering the deal. The club buying won't be able to actually use the player because he is too young, inexperienced and probably will need about a year of conditioning before even being able to play a premier league match over 90 mins. The club selling has lost a player that it has invested time and resources into developing and has to sell at a rock bottom price. And the player being sold will most likely never actually get a chance of a career at the club being sold to, he'll end in the u23 team, then out on loan at half a dozen other club before being sold. What a farce

Why not? Teenagers join the military & go off to war at 18.

I know what you mean sort of, but even at 18 the option & opportunity to join an organisation in your profession that’s offering a better package is surely an opportunity not to be ignored?

At this point, I'd like the club to get off the proverbial pot and either sell him or come out and say he's staying.
Then get on with things. Bloody soap opera.

Once again the owners showing we have no real intention of going up.

Where are the big signings? Why is the squad not being bolstered?

We had 17 year old's with us in Northern Ireland!..

They weren't supposed to go on the Streets though!..

Best, we know the pathetic fee will be wasted on useless loan deals, an absolute disgraceful piece of business which proves the club are desperate to sell.
