Maguire

Assuming he turns down the huge sums certain to be on offer on the other side of the City boundary and joins the better footballing side, can Pep make him the replacement for Vinny that will be needed? Good player but, like Stones, prone to mistakes so he is not the finished article yet.

I'm aware of his past transfer dealings, some good some bad. I'm hoping that the 80 mill would go a long way to securing Tielemans as we're pretty well stocked in centre backs. Although that may depend on who else may come in for him.

Hope you get him.

United would be a bad move for both him and United. We need a player to elevate and lead our defence. We don't have the structure in place to play to his strengths while covering his weaknesses.

He'll fit in better at City. But will City or United really pay £80m? I find it hard to believe either will.

I like Maguire a lot. Makes the absolute best out of what he has got and is pretty good on the ball. He definitely makes mistakes positionally though and loses far too many 1-1 situations whether it be in the air or the tackle. He seems like the right signing for United and where they are, just feel there must be better options for City with what you can pay, with who you have as manager and how successful you currently are.

Why if spending this much would a team not go for De Ligt...very similar type of defender, class on the ball and certainly not defensively complete but wouldnt cost any more than Mcguire but is way younger.

De Ligt would only go to Man City out of the two clubs.

No chance Man Utd.

I think he’d be very good for us against certain opposition, though for the figures being banded around, I’d expect more than that.

Guardiola does like to change it up though and have rotation so I’m happy that he knows what different options he wants.

Would be great for you lot I reckon, but he would he terrible for us as we have no place at CB as it is and our midfield would leave him exposed.

Similar sized head to Kompany, kit man will be delighted, all those XXXL neck lines won't go to waste.

Maguire is quality and I would be sad to see him go.

I'm not jumping on this band wagon that he's suddenly crap because he might leave.

If he does go, we need to get the possible price for him because he will be difficult to replace.

Reckon he would be an ideal replacement for Kompany and a future captain here or at Man City.

We should really try and keep all our best players but we have to accept that players' heads will be turned if the big clubs come calling.
