DA, we know that the market is crazy,but, saying that 40 plus million for Kovacic is reasonable,is beyond my comprehension, whatever next,you¡ll be saying that Bakayoko is reasonable and worth keeping !

Because we already own him and wouldn't have to pay £40m for him.

I'd rather we kept the £40m to invest in players of a really high quality in positions we do need next time we can do business.

Suspect this was part of the Hazard deal ......

I dunno bluepensioner, the club said they wanted to keep Kova out of the Hazard deal!

Not sure what difference it makes though, the way I see it now we only got about £90m for Hazard!

It depends what deals you focus on. Age and contract length seem to determine the market now more than ever. Kovacic is 25, a seasoned international, been playing at a high level for a long time. 40mil seems about right for a player of his profile to me, 30mil would be a bargain.

But you've also said that you don't think we need him as well Devil - I think it just begs the question why pay that much money for some one we don't necessarily need.
