Aulas says "The first offer Tottenham made was €45m. We’ve held discussions since, but nothing is done. I can assure you of that, and we’re not in a hurry either. Nothing is done and he’s one of our best players. As for how much he’s worth, I don’t know, but he’s worth more than €45m".

This comment probably means he will be signed in about a week.

The comments from Aulas are probably just to sooth his ego and make it look like he has negotiated an extra £20m euros out of Levy and making Spurs sweat.

Aulas, Laurentiis and Levy are triplets and they are made of the same stuff.

Except Levy doesnt give daily press conferences, or weekly or monthly.....season at best.

So spurs offered 40m

Love it how fans of other clubs use a club's negotiaitions as a stick to beat you with. So Spurs offered 40m and got rejected - so what?
They might go back with a bigger offer or might not. Not sure how this is a bad thing?
Is it better if a club pays what it thinks is more than a player is worth, is that good business? Nah it aint obviously

As someone who negotiates at high level as part of my job, it amuses me how people fail to understand the basic principles.
Seller asks for too much, Buyer offers too little, usually meet in the middle somewhere.
Seems our politicians also lack a basic understanding and skill to negotiate. Those promoting No Deal taken off the table and happy to extend and extend the deadline takes ALL the power away from us trying to negotiate with the EU. It's like a transfer window....if there is no hard deadline then deals will drag on and on and many would never get done. Deadlne focus the mind and get things done, and No Deal is a painful consequence of failure which will encourage all parties to find an agreeable solution.
