It’s the Spanish press, hard to know whether there’s any truth in this story. Marca stating Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has phoned Real Madrid to offer them 27-year-old Denmark playmaker Christian Eriksen, who is refusing to extend his Spurs contract beyond summer 2020. (Marca)

Levy wants to make sure he can balance the books before he lashes out with money on new players

There was reports from last season of Tottenham offering Alderweireld to United for£50-70m.

It was probably Madrid calling Levy offering £65 mill, and Levy laughing his bollix off before hanging up.

Eriksen and his agents have outmanouvered Levy. One year to go on his contrac...seems Levy has dropped the ball.
To be honest we needed Eriksen to qualify for champs league this year so you could argue even if he walls for free we got value for the last 2 years.
This doesn't change the fact this will be a painful pill to swallow for Levy if he gets nothing for Eriksen. He has only himself to blame.

I think Eriksen blew his Real Madrid chances by not turning up to the champions league final.

No. Scouting isn’t done on a one game basis.

Big big game though. The kind real would be expecting him to stamp his authority over.

If Real buy Pogba that will be the thick end of 500 million Euro in one window so really cannot see them splashing much on a player they can get a deal done for in January for nothing. Especially as they don't seem able to give Bale away because of his wages and injury record. No idea who else would be in the market? United clearly but Levy would prefer to avoid a rival but choices are limited.
