£16m with add ins is a very good deal for a player with big ability but blows hot and cold.

I absolutely see him as the wide player that can cut inside that Rodgers seems to bang on about constantly.

No overly excited by this signing, but at £16m it will be shrewd business I think.

Interesting stats I’ve seen suggested (unconfirmed) that he’s very high up in interceptions and tackles for forwards. This with reports that he’s a hard and diligent worker suggests that he’s also been bought with a high press in mind.

He is perhaps overpriced at the increasingly suggested £30m, but seems to tick a lot of boxes for the type of player we want.

I don’t know an awful lot about him, but we’ve talked a lot about signing a player who can challenge Vardy and also play as a wide forward in a 3. I presume he’s a player who can do that.

Certainly not one I saw coming, but with Okazaki gone he only has to be a better option than Slim or Ian as a forward. Also as a wide player we don’t have much depth below Albrighton: Barnes is developing, Gray is ...... well Gray and Ghezzal is ..... (ahem), Diabate? Kapustka? A can of baked beans?

Expensive, but probably sensible.
