Just posted a comment on this elsewhere but thought it was probably worth its own discussion.
Last season we registered a full squad of 25 PL players, ten of whom were classified as homegrown (comfortably, where we’ll stay, over the minimum of seven).
Since then, we’ve seen three registered players leave: Fellaini, Herrera and Valencia.
This coming season, we’ll have to make room for AWB, James, and Rashford (who will have to be registered for the first time), as well as Tuanzebe and TFM if they are to be given chances. McT was first registered last season.
So that’s currently three out, and definitely three/probably four/potentially five in.
As such, we are already oversubscribed and will probably have to shift at the very least two more players, even if we’re only making one more signing.
Greenwood, Garner, Gomes, Chong and Levitt still won’t need to be registered.
Mike need not comment.
Squad space maxed out

Saw a rumour that Juve we're offering us Mandzukic as part of a deal to try and sign Darmian

We need to start shipping some out, its been quiet on that front.
Surely there is someone who wants Rojo and Darmian.

We’ll probably end up letting those two go on frees and loaning Lukaku and Sanchez out whilst paying their wages.

I'm glad we got Young, Jones and Mata on new contracts over the last few months. Looks like a masterstroke when considering squad numbers. As they're now locked in for the next season.

Its good to plan these things ahead... Proper squad management
We live in hope of Darmian, Rojo getting a move... Like last year... And the year before

It's important people remember we can just go around signing 6 or 7 players because of the size of our squad and the wage bill.

It’s shocking that Darmian and Rojo are still at the club for a start.
Lukaku looks likely he could leave
Other than that it doesn’t like there are anymore outgoings which I’m quite shocked about. I thought when last season ended that there would be a clear out of minimum 5 players and that is really what is needed.
Other players I’d have got shot of is a Jones, Young, Matic, mata and Sanchez

Surely Darmian and Rojo are the two most obviously surplus to requirements and most obvious to shift. With one and two years left on their deals respectively, they won’t be commanding big transfer fees, but it’s actually more important that we have the squad space and the wages off the books.
Jones I’d try to shift on top of those two if we have a CB coming in. Young I think will stay for cover across the wide areas in defence and midfield. He’ll still be a useful utility player.
Although Lukaku *could* go, we’re going to have to see the executive management agree to take a hit on either the transfer fee or agree to pay part of his wages I think. Maybe it’ll be a loan-with-agreement-to-buy type deal.
With Sanchez, I just don’t see how we shift him. I cannot see a scenario that’d be acceptable to any acquiring party, us and the player. It’s a Brexit of a signing, basically - there’s no happy way forward and we’re doomed to a slow, painful death watching an irremediably frustrating situation borne of an idiotic decision worsen.
Matic would have to be replaced with serious quality otherwise he leaves a very dangerous hole in the squad. I know people don’t appreciate his game, but he’s consistent, massively experienced, intelligent and reliable.
