As much I worry about the CB yet again (feels like been saying this for about 7 years)
2 first team midfielders have left over last 6 months in Fellaini and Herreraand neither so far have been replaced. Add in the Pogba situation and it's not looking great is it?
I was never a great fan of Fellaini but he still needs replacing. Feels like Periera and Mctomminay have come into the fold at his expense so we haven't really even replaced him. Herrera leaves a huge hope in our team. I really think we might live to regret not getting his contract sorted ages ago when we had the chance.
We go on tour on Sunday and not to have any new midfielders would be quite frankly embarrassing for Ole's preparations. Season starts in just over 4 weeks too. Not long.
Midfield is worrying me

Pogba, Fernandes and either McT or Fred doesn't look dreadful to me.

Fernandes would play up the pitch, so we’d need a serious DM if he’s playing with Pogba.
McT might grow into the role. Not sure about Fred though.

Fernandes will happen, it's just a case when Ed will take his finger out to complete it. We really should be in for Tielemens or Neves as well regardless of the Pogba issue.

We are not short on numbers, we are short on quality. Before we can bring in quality we need to reduce the numbers.
People who think we can just sign a couple of £50m midfielders and keep those who are costing us £4m a season are crazy.

Tielemens and nevez are very difference players. I'd like both, but Nevez would cost £70m.

and if we cant shift these players out??
i dont think that will effect the club bringing players in otherwise it means we stand still AGAIN while the teams around us improve

Worst comes to the worst we can sever players contracts or, better, hold on to them unregistered and loan them out with partial payment of their wages.
This could happen with Rojo and Darmian.

Can we afford to be paying out that sort of money for players who won't play a game for us?

Very few players would sit unregistered for 6 months.

It might entice them to seek a move then.
