so according to Goal ( im not sure how reliable they are if all) the 29-year-old wanted a whopping five-year deal worth £18million to stay at Old Trafford making him the second highest earner behind sanchez.
extremely high demands given that he was a good player at best.
at least Ed has got something right if true
Herrera

Anyway, back on topic.
Matip, Lallana and Allison all seem to be paid over £100k per week.
So I think we can all agree that Herrera wouldn't sign a contract for £70k per week with PSG, right?

Especially when we offered more than double that going by reports.

I also think it's fair to say that money is a big reason for players joining PSG and has been for a while.

He obviously hasnt gone there for £70k per week

We were absolutely right not to meet his demands.
I think the issue for a lot of people though was that we didn't tie him down earlier, which again is a symptom of us not really having a consistent, long-term plan. Up until Ole we didnt have a manager who really seemed to rate him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Maybe we couldn't tie him down earlier as PSG had already told him theyd offer £500k on a free.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah, I'm sure they did that 2 years ago.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ole has just confirmed that clubs do look years down the line and have long and shirt term plans.
To think otherwise is naive
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I am about 99.9% sure that PSG did not offer Ander Herrera a 300k a week contract 2 years ago.
You do you though RDD.

It is not common sense that clubs / agents scope out their next moves.
If the club indicates to 27 - 28 year old Herrera they wont be offering him a 5 year renewal at £250-300k per week then the agent wouldnt be doing their job in seeking out potential suitors.
You dont think DDG has known where he could go and on what terms for the last few seasons?
