First impressions, very promising

I'm actually more excited now than I was at this point last season, where you may or may not remember I vocalised about Frank giving me the good feels, well Phillip gives me those same feels plus some more. It really does feel like a continuation, a natural progression, like Frank sowed the seeds and Phillip is now here to nurture them and bring them to fruition with a little continental panache.

Last season was like going into the unknown, turned out to be a very good season with a novice manager, there were major set backs along the way, but , I agree, the excitement has been restored, there will be some quality incomings I'd imagine.
The acquisition of Phillip Cocu and his team surely bodes well for an exciting season ahead.

I wasn't expecting much last season, as Frank didn't have any experience, and I thought it was a risky appointment. Thankfully, Frank was much better than I expected.
This season, I'm expecting the moon on a stick

Good player, but I do think we're getting a bit carried away.

He won the Dutch league with the 2nd biggest team in the country and thus a relatively high amount of resources available to him.

McClaren won the Dutch league with a much less fancied team.

It isn't the most competitive league in the world, it's better than say the Scottish league, but it is a league dominated by 2 teams.

Obviously more experienced than Frank, but I think this will be his first real test.

Your facts are correct, chief, but here are the same facts presented differently:
He won the Dutch League 3 times out of 4, with a second runner who had significantly less funds than the front runner, and played attractive, attacking football, and brings academy youngsters through.
He's the right man for the job, I tell's ya.
Bring it on.

Meanwhile, the Notts F*rest recruitment strategy appears to be throwing a big net over the Job Centre nearest to West Bridgford, and appointing the no-mark with the fewest cans of Special Brew whose name isn’t Billy Davies.

I really don’t care about Mendes’ latest money laundering project down the A52. I will be watching closely to see who we bring in. Looks like a lot of work is being done to clear the decks and free up funds for Cocu, he needs it too as the squad is looking thread bare.
