The last 20 years or so have been amazing, and I believe we are the second most successful team in the country in that time behind man utd(who lets face it have dominated the pl era). Since 1994 we have looked to compete in cup finals, winning 1 in 97 and 2 in 98(3 if you include super cup).
24 trophies in just over 20 years including the charity shields and super cup is just an amazing haul, especially for a young lad supporting chelsea who couldn't dream of us winning the champions league let alone live it.
But as they say, things go in cycles and the good times always come to an end, any pool or utd fan will tell you this, or even across London, the Arsenal fans will most certainly tell you.
So what are our realistic expectations this year? Frank needs time, we will see youth brought in, and will realistically finish about 6th with hopefully a cup run thrown in. It would not surprise me if we somehow ended up with a trophy but I'm not expecting it. We need to be prepared for a few years of transition like everyone else goes through.
It's been a great run but will be good to hit a little reset button and prepare for the next generation, hopefully reaching the top again, because currently we are miles off city and pool.
Let's keep the faith, some of us wanted sarri to go, some to stay, but we have Frank now who will undoubtedly get our support, but I think it may be testing times ahead.

Far as I'm concerned next season is a free hit, there's no expectation from me. Would've been for the most experienced of managers so it most certainly should be for Lampard.
I still think we've rushed this appointment, would've preferred someone like Nuno (realistic) who has a degree of experience with top players as a manager, but I'm dying to be proven wrong. Just hope the board will give him the time all of us know he's going to need.
